Management
Oliver Nguyen, President / Founder
Oliver founded SoftShores in 2001 to serve the technical staffing and software development needs of his clients. Since 2002, he has also served as President of the Bay.NET User Group (www.BayNetUG.org), an organization supporting the .NET community in the San Francisco Bay Area with over 4500 members. He is a Microsoft MVP and is recognized widely for his community contributions.
Prior to SoftShores, Oliver was the Director of Software Development at Panurgy Norcal and was responsible for delivering software solutions to clients. He also developed both domestic and international partner relationships. Clients included US Web (Walgreens, Levi’s, and Televisa Projects), Adjacency (Nordstrom and Virgin Megastore Projects), Wells Fargo, Mindscape, Genentec, Esurance, Interpraise and Reel.com. Prior to Panurgy Oliver worked in both Program Manager and Technical Lead roles for companies including Summit Integration Group, Bank of America, Security Pacific Corporation, and Tracor Flight Systems. Projects for these companies include fraud detection, customer relationship management, F-18 Flight simulation, inventory and billing systems.
Oliver received his BS in Information and Computer Science from UC Irvine with a Minor in Psychology. While at UC Irvine, he completed graduate work on Artificial Intelligence with an emphasis on Neural Networks. He is a Member of the UCI Information and Computer Science Alumni Program.
David Welsh, Program Manager / Quality Assurance Manager
David has managed the design, development and maintenance of more than fifty World Wide Web sites. He has directed all creative and usability planning, staff allocations, production schedules, client budgets and established all architectural, navigational, graphical, and technical standards. David has coordinated usability testing, traffic statistics, ad tracking and auditing, competition analysis, site positioning, and content licensing for numerous high traffic landing sites. He facilitated Quality Assurance Testing, Usability Analyses and Information Mapping of client sites including SupplyLine.com, eSurance.com and Walgreen's on-line Pharmacy. Project Scope included all functional, integrated, stress, and load testing.
David Wilkinson, Systems Architect / Sharepoint Practice Manager
An information systems professional with over thirty years of experience in the computer industry, experienced in all aspects of analysis, design, development, implementation, and project management. Areas of expertise include Internet and Web technologies; Windows 2003, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SMS, Microsoft IIS, Microsoft Transaction Server, Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server, UNIX/Linux (including OpenSource software), Systems Administration, Client/Server technology; relational database management systems (MS SQL Server, Oracle, Informix, Sybase, MySql); programming (C, C++, C#, VB, Java, .NET, DreamweaverMX, JavaScript, PHP, Perl, Ruby on Rails, etc.), image processing; PC and server platform technologies; Systems Security and Administration; and Project Management.
